The things we do to Mother Earth!
When we have an open wound, our body rushes to heal and cover itself with new skin to protect itself from infections.
But how many open wounds can our body heal all at once without help? So we go to the professionals, the doctors,
and they help our bodies heal its wounds.
We create open wounds on our Mother Earth and she rushes to heal herself, covering the wound with new skin of grasses and trees.
How many millions of wounds can she try to heal all at once? She too sometimes need some help to heal.
As children of the earth, let us help Mother Earth.
Protect and preserve nature!
Show caring and kindness to all the living things on earth!
Plant trees, keep trees and protect trees.
Do not concrete every open space because we do not want to cut the grass and do not cut the trees down just because we have to rake leaves!

Just a thought ………
In the night, some of us light up our entire neighborhood. Way beyond relatively simple, dim, but effective security lights, we employ high wattage floodlights which drown out the beauty of the starlight on the darkest and cloudless of nights and even negate the soft light of the full moon. We seem to give no thought to the fact that it costs us more money and more importantly, that somewhere in the distance, a smokestack is spitting out tons of earth-killing pollutants into the atmosphere. All of this to satisfy our desire to light up our home for others to see in the never-ending quest to feed our own ego.
Together, let us HELP SAVE MOTHER EARTH! Turn off the floodlights and let your neighbors enjoy the glittering jewels in the dark of nights!

Mother Earth Song of Tears - Poem By Jag
Of all the planets around our glorious star, the Sun
One we call home, abundant with life giving waters
The blue orb we will leave behind when we are done
Into the futures hands of our sons and our daughters
Our Mother Earth is in trouble, and it needs our help! Our air is being poisoned everyday by car fumes, our oceans polluted with toxic wastes, and thousands of acres of our beautiful forests are being destroyed every day. That's why our Earth needs all the help it can get from us. We owe this to our children to do our part in helping to protect the environment to make it a better place for our children.
Lawn foods, weed killers, and other lawn chemicals are a major source of pollution on our planet. When it rains, the chemicals are washed from the lawns and end up in sewers, springs, rivers, and eventually into lakes or the ocean. All of this is in addition to the health hazards of having these chemicals on your lawn.
To get a green, healthy-looking lawn, the grass needs to be fed. These fertilizers not only feed your lawn and help it grow, when it's washed away as runoff, it feeds algae in the water. Algae blooms affects water-based activities such as fishing, swimming, water-skiing and boating less enjoyable, they use up large amounts of oxygen, and kill off marine life.
To get that lush, green lawn requires large amounts of water. This is even more detrimental in areas where water isn't in abundant supply. The use of herbal pesticides might be effective and dangerous. These chemicals are highly toxic, and have been associated with several types of cancer, neurological diseases and birth defects. They can kill wildlife. And like fertilizers, herbicides also get carried away into the watershed by runoff.
There's also the environmental impact from the energy used to produce the chemicals, and dealing with the toxic waste that is left over from their production. Our water supply is also affected. The pesticides and fertilizers seep into the water supply. On Long Island where I live, our water is supplied by underground aquafiers and these toxins poison this priceless source of fresh water.

Light Pollution affects everyone in many ways. Light Pollution wastes 5-10 billion dollars annually in the US. Light Pollution consumes incredible amounts of natural resources. Hundreds of millions of barrels of oil... and hundreds of millions of tons of coal... just so people can light the bottoms of clouds. Light Pollution pollutes the air we breath through wasteful generation of electricity, most of which comes from fossil fuels. Light Pollution harms nocturnal wildlife. Many species won't even go near an area that has bad lighting. Many species will stop reproducing if habitat destruction from overly bright lights becomes too severe. Light Pollution threatens all of humankind, being linked to some serious ailments. Light pollution is a threat to our health. Night lighting is known to affect the natural internal body-clocks. Light Pollution destroys the views of the heavens that man has enjoyed since the beginning of time. 90% of all American live under skies that are "negatively impacted" by light pollution and over half can no longer see the Milky Way from their homes. This is a shame. Mankind has throughout history looked to the stars to try to understand events around them.
